The adapter allows you to insert the webcam directly into 1.25" focusers or 1.25" barlow lenses, with the barrel having a thread for 1.25" filters.

How to install the adaptor on a Philips SPC900NC:

Removing the lens of the Philips SPC 900NC is a little more complicated than on older webcams, but can be done without special tools.

You only need to push a knife into the slit surrounding the objective until the slit widens. Now you can simply lever off the front ring that is normally used to focus the camera´s lens. Once this part is removed you only need to unscrew the lens counter-clockwise and then insert the adaptor in its place. Please be careful that you do not hurt yourself with the knife!
