TelePack - Counterweight Shaft Camera and Accessory Mount

With the Tele Pack you can attach a camera or even a compact telescope to the counterweight shaft of your astronomical mount.

This reduces the overall weight because it allows you to use less counterweights.

The TelePack Motto:

The TelePack is a highly optimized adaptation that allows you to attach accessories like cameras to the counterweight shaft of your mount. This reduces the overall load for the mount. Stability is limited only by the stability of the counterweight shaft itself.
TelePack-Zubehör-an-Gegengewichtsstange Standard Saddle Plate:

Accessories are attached to the Tele Pack through a standard Vixen-style saddle plate (included). The saddle plate accepts almost all Vixen-style dovetail plates that fit on one of the below mentioned mounts. Attaching the accessory or removing it again takes only a few seconds.

We also offer dovetail plates with camera tripod thread for the adaptation of cameras, spotting scopes and similar. You can find suitable plates under "recommended accessories".


List of Compatible Mounts for the Tele Pack

The TelePack is compatible with all mounts with a counterweight shaft diameter of 20mm or a little less. If possible the counterweight shaft should be screwed into the mount. Slide-in type shafts like on the H-EQ5 or EQ-6 can also be used, but with reduced stability.

Maximum Load

The TelePack itself does not set the limit for the stability of the setup. The overall stability is rather limited by the counterweight shaft. On most mounts instruments up to about 5kgs can be easily used.

The TelePack is even strong enough to carry compact telescopes like the Skywatcher ED80. trägt sogar kleinere Teleskope, wie den Skywatcher ED 80. Since the adaptation on the counterweight shaft allows you to use fewer counterweights you can actually exceed the theoretical load capacity of a mount like the Celestron ADM. The same instruments all mounted on top of the mount would be a too high load for the mount.
