Vixen Time Lapse Adapter for Polarie Star Tracker mount

With this adapter, you can turn the Polarie into a base for spectacular time-lapse sequences within seconds. That is perfect for travelling. You have a compact mount for astrophotography AND a stable base for time-lapse recording at the same time.

Adaption ist done quick and easy.

Beside this adapter, you only need a photo tripod, a ball head, and, of course, the Vixen Polarie (all of this can be found in the accessories section).

Remove the built-in compass from the Polarie.

Screw the Time Lapse Adapter in the housing.

Mount the Polarie on the tripod by using the adapter and direct the tripod in a way that the polarie is horizontal. The rotating axis has to face exactly upwards.

Screw the ball head to the rotary plate of the Polarie and attach the camera to it.

Ready - now you can create beautiful time-lapse sequences with your Polarie. With the horizontal orientation, beautiful horizontal pannings become possible. Change the direction of the photo tripod and you will also change the direction of motion in the time-lapse sequence.

Time-lapse photography - an exciting photographical technique

Through constantly improving digital cameras, this recording technique has become accessible and affordable for everyone. Many hundreds of photographs are taken over a longer period. The more extreme the time-lapse effect has to be, the less photographs have to be taken per minute. Later on, these frames are added together to a film by a suitable software and replay an event, which has lasted for hours, within a few minutes.
