ALCCD-QHY PoleMaster - Elektronic Polar Finder
The ALccd-QHY PoleMaster is an innovative electronic polar alignment aid for almost any astronomical mount. With the PoleMaster, you do not need a polar finder, the image is formed by a small lens, electronics with a sensitive CMOS sensor and an intelligent software. For the adjustment procedure, the view to the polar region has to be unobstructed.As an experiment, the ALccd-QHY PoleMaster was attached to to an NEQ6 mount, the calibration was carried out. Directly after, automatic guiding was stopped in both axes for recording the deviation over a period of 10 minutes. Within 30 minutes, the deviation in declination is only 1.5". This means an alignment error of max. 18". This is a really remarkable and very good magnitude for such a little tool.
