Celestron C 9 1/4 Schmidt-Cassegrain - optical tube assembly

The C-9.25 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope was developed by Celestron for demanding amateur astronomers who appreciate very good imaging. The telescope offers a higher contrast and better sharpness than comparable SC telescopes. The sharpness is close to the Maksutov-Cassegrain.

Celestron achieves this by a completely new calculation of the optics. The C9.25 has approximately the length of the C11. Primary and secondary mirror do not have such extreme focal ratio and moderate radii. At the same high manufacturing accuracy, a better imaging quality is achieved. Of course, all Celestron C 9.25" are retouched by hand. The C9.25 is equally suitable for observation and astrophotography. Thanks to its compact design and weight of less than 10 kg, the telescope can also be used for mobile applications.

Application areas of the Celestron C9.25 SC telescope:

Deep-sky observations ... The optics offer maximum contrast and a large aperture. This allows faint nebulae, galaxies and star clusters to be observed well. With suitable seeing, double stars can be separated up to the theoretical resolution.

Lunar and planetary observation ... One of the core competencies of this telescope. With its modified optics, the C9.25 bridges the gap to the significantly more expensive Maksutov-Cassegrains and SC telescopes. The larger aperture makes the C9.25 a planetary specialist.

Astrophotography ... Lunar and planetary photography as well as deep-sky photography are possible with the C9.25. We have suitable correctors in our range. Of course, the telescope is also FastStar compatible. This allows you to convert the telescope into a fast f/2 Schmidt camera for modern astro cameras. Or you can use the corrector from Starizona, which brings the telescope to a fast f/6.3 with full illumination and correction up to APS-C format.

The advantages of the Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes:

Short construction ... Through the special optical construction, the telescope is very short, thus the SCT can still be held by portable and economically priced mounts.

No focus problems ... Focusing is done by shifting the primary mirror. For this reason, you can attach almost all accessories, like binoviewers or corrector system for astrophotography.

Very bright image through XLT coating ... Through this multi-layered coating, optics from Celestron have an outstanding high light transmission. In the especially important spectral range around 500 nm, up to 10% more light is delivered at the eyepiece. At this wavelength, the human eye is extra sensitive.

High collimation stability ... The tube is short and compact and offers very high rigidity. As a result, the C9.25 also retains its collimation during transportation.
