TS Optics Adapter from T2 to 1.25" - Focusing Adapter forr astrophotography with DSLR cameras

With the adapter TST2-1-54mm, we have designed a very special solution for astrophotography. In the process, we have taken into account two characteristics:

The working distance of most correctors and reducers from the T2-thread to the optimal camera position is 55 mm (that is exactly the optical path of a SLR camra with T2 adapter).

Many Plössl and Kellner eyepieces have the field stop (where the focal plane of the telescope has to placed at) roughly at the junction from the 1,25" barrel to the eyepiece body. For compensating a different place of the field stop, the adapter is designed 1 mm shorter.

Thus you can make an ideal locating eyepiece or an effective focusing aid for astrophotography out of a simple Plössl or Kellner.

That is easy to do: take an appropriate eyepiece out of your eyepiece pool (many amateur astronomers have simple eyepieces somewhere in the drawer - you can order suitable eyepieces from us, of course). And then proceed as follows:

Focus the camera at the telescope a good as possible.

Unscrew the camera with the adaption from the corrector, the T2-thread becomes visible.

Now, screw the adapter TST2-1-54mm with the eyepiece onto the T2-thread.

Loosen the clamping at the adapter and focus by slowly pulling out the eyepiece. When the object looks perfectly sharp, fasten the eyepiece again.

By now, you have a perfect locating aid or effective focusing aid, depending on the focal length of the eyepiece.

Eyepiece focal lengths between 6 mm and 15 mm are well suitable for focusing, Eyepiece focal lengths from 25 mm to 32 mm are well suitable for locating.
