The telescope camera DBK 21AF04.AS outputs up to 60 color images/s. This makes it particularly suitable for those methods of astrophotography that require a high frame rate. With the downloadable software IC Capture.AS you can save them lossless and uncompressed into an AVI file.

Fast display of color images
The raw data (8 bit/pixel, RAW format) delivered by color CCDs require processing. Color interpolation serves this purpose. It converts the raw data into one of the common color formats. These require 16 or more bits/pixel and thus a high bandwidth during transmission. You can switch off the color interpolation of the Astro CCD camera DBK 21AF04.AS and thus transmit 60 color images/s. The color interpolation is then performed by IC Capture.AS on the computer. Of course you can also do without color interpolation completely and create the AVI files with images in RAW format.

Sony® Color CCD
The CCD camera DBK 21AF04.AS uses the Sony® color CCD ICX098BQ. The format of the CCD is 1/4". It is read out using the progressive scan method and offers a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Its noise is low even with long exposure times. Because of its high quality, this CCD is also used in medical imaging.

No IR cut filter
The DBK 21AF04.AS astro CCD camera uses a color CCD but does not use an IR cut filter. Therefore, the user can adjust the behavior of these Astro CCD cameras to his needs by means of his own filters.
