Color Astro Camera without IR cut filter

Fast visualization of color images
Color CCDs output their data in a format that is not useful for visualization (RAW format). To process this raw data, color cameras perform color interpolation. However, the transmission of interpolated images requires a bandwidth that is much higher than the one used to transmit the raw data. The CCD camera DBK 41AF02.AS therefore allows to switch off the color interpolation and thus to transmit up to 15 color images per second. The color interpolation is then performed by IC Capture.AS on the computer. Of course, you can also disable color interpolation completely and create the AVI files with images in RAW format.

Sony® Color CCD
The most important component of the astro CCD camera DBK 41AF02.AS is the high resolution Sony® color CCD ICX205AK. It offers a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and a format of 1/2". Its noise is low even at long exposure times. The high quality of the ICX205AK makes it suitable for use in medical imaging applications.

IR cut filter
Color cameras without IR cut filters offer users greater flexibility, as they can tailor them to their needs using their own filters. Therefore, the camera does not contain an IR cut filter.
