Adapter for lunar and planetary photography with your 1.25" eyepieces
With the variable projection adapter, you can take beautiful photographs of moon and planets the easy and effective way. You can use your own 1.25" eyepieces.

Easy use:
Simply push your 1.25" eyepiece into the adapter and fix it with the thumbscrew.
put the adapter into the focuser of your telescope
screw your camera via T2-ring to the T2 thread (T2-rings are optional) and start
the more you extend the adapter, the more increases the magnification

Practical tip from Teleskop Service - which eyepieces are well suited:

For eyepiece projection, we recommend eyepieces with focal distances between 9 mm and 15 mm. Shorter ones give too much magnification, so the image gets too dark. Longer focal distances do not enhance the magnification effect sufficiently.

Especially well suited are orthoscopic and Plössl eyepieces. The give a god image, do not cause chromatic aberration and also offer a goot sharpness over the whole field.

Two adapters in one - if you want to take pictures in prime focus:

In prime-focus photography, no eyepiece is used. The camera body /without lens!)is directly attached to the telescope by using a T2 ring. The telescope is converted to a telephoto lens.

Unscrew the 1.25" barrel from the adapter and screw on the T2 ring. Insert the comination into the focuer, attach your camera and get started.

Be careful: some telescopes, like small Newtonians, are not suited for this kind of photography, as you will not get into focus. Nevertheless, eyepiece projection works.

["I have reflexes - what to do"]

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
Even though reflexes are rare, they can occur with extended bright objects like the moon and landscape despite the anti-reflection ripples.

The solution is simple: just insert some velour foil or, even better, glue it in.

We have linked a roll of self-adhesive velour foil, the material is also suitable for the inside of focusers and telescope tubes, which can also cause reflections.
