TS Optics Premium O-3 Filter for nebula observation
The TS O-III Filter enhances contrast of planetary and other emission nebulae. This permits the observation of very faint objects even close to towns.


Impact:

Countless lights of towns infringe the capabilities of astronomical observations. The comparison shows the sight of M27 without filter (left), with a UHC filter (middle) and with the TS O-III Filter (right), using a medium size telescope.


Mode of action of the TS O-III Filter:

The TS O-III Filter blocks unwanted light of streetlights and limilar lighting and transmits the spectral lines of [O III] of nebulae almost completely. That enhances contrast tremendously and brings thousands of objects within reach of your telescope.

For which objects is this filter suitable?

The TS O-III Filer is well suited for many emission nebulae, especially almost all planetary nebulae. It lets light in the important [O III] range pass. The contrast of objects like the North America nebula, the SNR Veil Nebula, and planetary nebulae like the Dumbbell Nebula is distinctly enhanced. Less known nebulae will become visible only with the filter.

On galaxies, nebular filters usually are no use, as a galaxie radiates in the complete spectrum. The galaxie becomes dimmer proportional to the background.

For which telescopes is this filter suitable?

The TS O3 Filter can be used with all telescopes of at least 80 mm aperture. It is simply screwed into the filter thread of the eyepiece or the reducing adapter.

"Das Produkt hat ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich benutze es regelmäßig bei der Beobachtung von Deep-Sky Objekten, besonders planetarische Nebel und Emissionsnebel. Ich würde das O-III Filter von TS jederzeit gerne weiterempfehlen. Die Kontrastleistung wird merklich gesteigert, ohne zu starke Verdunkelung. Im Vergleich zu erheblich teureren Filtern renommierter Hersteller kein signifikanter Qualitätsverlust feststellbar !"

"Guter Filter für Nebel, nutze ihn in der Nähe von Zürich (viel Streulicht) mit dem ES 68° 34mm Ar am 8"" f/5 Newton und finde ihn gut. Kann mangels Expertise nicht mehr dazu sagen. Keine Probleme, verbessert die Sichtbarkeit von Nebeln."

"Nochmal eine Spurt brillanter als mit UHC-Filter. Nordamerikanebel tritt im 4-Zoll-Großfelder deutlich hervor. Klarer Himmel und Höhenlage ab 600 m vorausgesetzt."
