Here you see one of the most versatile adaptation system for SC (and similar) telescopes on the market. Of course it can also be adapted to other systems.

This system is an interesting alternative to (often under-dimensioned) piggy back solutions.

What all can you connect with the accessory holder?

You can attach many kinds of accessories up to approx. 4 kg, for example

Cameras & telephoto lenses

Bigger finder scopes

Smaller guiding scopes

Mounting is done via a 1/4" screw or an adapter plate.

Using tangential assemblies:

With these devices (Witty, Stronghold) you can mount finder scopes, guiding scopes or cameras and also have a very sensitive fine adjustment. The tangential assembly is not included, you will find a link below in the accessory recommendations.

Which telescopes are suitable for this system?

The holder fits practically all telescopes. The adaptation is very easy, you just need to drill four holes in the tube and attach the mount to them. On the tube side, the holder has an inward curved profile to ensure a clean fit.

The following Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes already have tube bores which fit to the existing holes in the dovetail bar:

Celestron C8 (not more than 15 years old), C9.25 and C11

On the C8, the dovetail will protrude on one side and must be flush with the outer edge of a tube ring on the other, see third image.
