Baader Dovetail Bar L style

The dovetail bar is the link between the telescope and the mount. The bar should be stiff, but not unnecessarily heavy. Due to the profile construction, these Baader dovetails are just as stable as bars made of solid material, only much lighter.

The 3" or "Losmandy" dovetail format has been designed by Losmandy for larger mounts and is now in common usage among many different manufacturers.

Compatible telescopes

The dovetail plate comes without pre-drilled holes. The user can drill holes at the desired positions for his or her telescope.

Top side with profile

A special feature of the Baader bars is the upper side, which is designed for different radii. So you can mount tube rings with flat support as well as tubes with different diameters. The bar always rests fully on the tube via two edges. This allows you to attach optical tubes to mounts without tube rings.

Parallel photography or tube weights for your telescope

The dovetail bar can also be used as a base for a camera mount that can be mounted on a saddle or for barrel weights on your telescope. All you have to do is drill two holes in your tube and you´re ready to mount the bar. The bar then fits dovetail clamps for a camera (parallel photography), a guide tube or a set of barrel weights for an exact balance.
