Celestron StarSense Module - fully automatic alignment for GoTo mounts
Tired of having to align your Celestron telescope on the sky each night? Let the Celestron StarSense auto alignment retro-fit kit take care of it for you. Just turn it on and watch it go to work. In three minutes you will be aligned and ready to observe ...

The Celestron StarSense brings the same advanced automatic alignment technology found in the award-winning Celestron SkyProdigy telescopes to almost all of Celestron´s computerized scopes and mounts. No user input is required to line up your scope on the sky each night, as the StarSense automatically aligns compatible Celestron telescopes and mounts with the sky in only three minutes, with no need to identify alignment stars.

The system allows you to simply turn on your scope and let it automatically identify the stars needed to align the telescope on the sky. The integrated StarSense camera uses CCD imaging technology and advanced multi-point mount modeling to take a series of images of different parts of the sky. It uses these images to identify star patterns to determine your telescope´s position in relation to the sky so the scope´s NexStar hand control can take you on your nightly sight-seeing tour of the heavens.

The lightweight and compact StarSense has a bracket to mount it in place of the finderscope on most non-SCT optical tubes (refractors, reflectors, etc.) or in the second set of finder holes at the one o´clock position on the rear cell of most Celestron SCT optical tubes. A cable attaches the StarSense to the NexStar hand control on your scope. The StarSense has upgradable firmware and a USB connection to let you download upgrades from Celestron´s website.

The Celestron StarSense works with most existing Celestron computerized telescopes and mounts. It will not work with other brands of scopes. Compatible go-to Celestron scopes and mounts include the NexStar SE series, all CPC and CPC DX, all NexStar GPS, all current CG-5 Advanced Series, Celestron´s new Advanced VX series, all CGEM and CGEM DX, all CGE and CGE Pro, and all NexStar SLT and LCM. You will need an optional and inexpensive Auxiliary Port Splitter #93919 for the SLT and LCM series scopes. The StarSense will not work with the NexStar i, Ultima 2000, and older generation Compustar scopes.

Please note that the StarSense module does not fit into most standard findershoe holders.
We recommend either the Baader or the TS finder shoe holder - both listed in the recommended accessories.

Question:
Can SkyPortal and StarSense be used together, i.e. can the combination of SkyPortal & App &iPad be used also as an input device to perform alignment with the StarSense camera to a NexStar SE6 without a hand controller?

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
Yes, it works, and really well, but maybe the firmware of the telescope and StarSense has to be updated.

Under the following link you can find a video how to run the setup:

Question:
Is it possible to use the Starsense version for Skywatcher for Celestron mounts by not using the interface box required for Skywatcher on the Celestron mount, or are there software differences in the controllers of both Starsense versions that make flexible use impossible?

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
The two StarSense AutoAlign modules do not differ, apart from the additional interface box for the Skywatcher mounts. Flexible use between a Celestron mount and a Skywatcher mount should therefore be possible without any problems.

"The StarSense system is very convenient, practical, easy to manage. The most important quick adjustment of the VX11 Advanced telescope is by reference stars and also convenient polar binding with the help of the Starsense system. I recommend to All."
