iOptron SmartStar-A tripod

Stainless steel tripod for altazimuth and equatorial use with integrated polar wedge.

The SmartStar-A tripod is suitable for all SmartStar Cube and Cube Pro mounts. You can also use the tripod for other small altazimuth mounts.

Caution: Most small altazimuth mounts have a controller that only works in azimuthal mode. When buying a new mount, please make sure that you have the option to switch between azimuthal and equatorial mode.

Tip from Teleskop Service: If you have an azimuthal GoTo mount without switching option and want to work in equatorial mode (e.g. astrophotography), then enter the North Pole as the location if you are observing from the northern hemisphere, and the South Pole if you are observing from the southern hemisphere.
You must allow objects below the horizon to be approached in the mount settings, then you can use all the functions and the mount will track correctly after polar alignment.

Note: To connect to the SmartStar Cube Pro mount (item no. iO8200), the SR3819 screw listed in the accessories is required.
