Baader Adapter with M42x1 female thread and T2 male thread
Known as the "Russian adapter"
The adapter allows to connect standard T2 accessories including the T2 camera adapters to instruments with the M42x1 thread, for example
Russian and East German telephoto lenses from Pentacon, Exakta, etc
"Russian tons" like MTO 1000 or Rubinar 300 or 500


Small cause, not such a small problem
Practically every telescope manufacturer has to offer the T-thread for mounting far in front of the focal point of his instrument, because only in this way can a universal T2 ring (for DSLR cameras) be connected.

The only exception are (still) Russian devices, where the thread diameter is the same, but the thread pitch is 1 mm per revolution - instead of 0.75 mm!

Therefore Baader Planetarium offers a "Russian adapter". With an additional optical length of only 7 mm, it is possible to attach an internationally common T2 (M42x0.75) connection to many Russian lenses or telescopes!
