The Explore Scientific 18 mm wide-angle eyepiece offers an extreme field of view of 82°. It is especially suitable for fast telescopes like f/4 or f/5 Newtonians. The exit pupil remains moderate, nevertheless large field observation becomes an experience with this eyepiece. Star clusters and galaxies become visible in their full extent. Compact deep-sky objects like planetary nebulae or globular clusters can also be observed well with this eyepiece, due to the higher magnification finer details are resolved. The UWA 18 closes the gap between a pure overview eyepiece and an eyepiece for high magnifications.
