Fringe Killer 1.25" - Contrast enhancement and reduction of false colour at refractors
The Fringe Killer is a further development of the simple minus violet filter. It lets more of the blue light pass thus causing less colour shift. Additionally, contrast is enhanced significantly.The Fringe Killer is recommended for the following telescopes
For every achromatic refractor from 70 to 150 mm aperture when the user wants to reduce the false colour inherent to the system and increase contrast.The Fringe Killer´s effect at the example of Sirius
The upper row shows already after 1/10 second integration time the blue colour fringe as a halo around the star.With the Fringe Killer (lower column), the blue halo is significantly reduced thus enhancing contrast and resolution.

Hat aus meinem 90mm f/10 Achromaten noch einiges rausgeholt. Mond und Planeten haben deutlich davon profitiert.

"The filter made the Moon look amazing to the smallest detail. Now I can see the impact zones clearly of every crater and all looks like a spider web of magnificent size. The magic of the Moon that is discovered with this filter is forever to be remembered. The light transmission is almost 100%. The plastic box it came with is very good to use and reuse. Is a must buy for the right setup as in my case for planetary refractory telescope Vixen A70Lf. I would buy the filter again if I have to as is just too important not to have."
