Baader Methane Band Filter

A special filter for Jupiter and Saturn in the near infrared, additionally suitable for reducing the influence of air turbulence for all planets. Daytime observations of planets are also facilitated.

The filter is especially applicable for the gas planets, but only for use with CMOS and possibly CCD cameras. Visual observations are not possible, because the eye is no longer sensitive in this spectral range.

Requirements for a successful use of the filter are: IR-sensitive astro camera and at least 5" aperture, IR-sensitive webcam and at least 8" aperture.
