TS-Optics Tracking Package for Astro Imaging
Teleskop-Service has compiled an attractive set for you with which you can start into the adventure of astrophotography without having to invest lots of money in an astrophoto mount or a tracking platform. The tracking kit includes everything to take beautiful photographs of the night sky with your camera. Make aesthetic deep-sky images of our galaxy, photograph open star clusters, diffuse nebulae or even other galaxies which shine through to the star clouds of our milky way.

You only need your camera, for example a DSLR or an astro camera. The mount holds up to 3 kg and, if polar-aligned well, tracks up to 200 mm lens focal length for several minutes without problems. The precise controller with a quartz-controlled stepper motor provides for accurate tracking (compensation of the earth´s rotation).

Using the EQ2 astrophoto mount is thus easy:
For this, you only have to know that the declination axis is the extension of the rod on which the counterweight is installed. The right ascension axis is the other axis which is driven by the motor.

Attach the camera to the mount
Turn the declination axis until the camera points in the same direction as the right ascension axis.
Then loosen the screw at the bottom side of the mount and rotate the mount until the right ascension axis faces exactly to north. A compass is quite helpful for this.
At last you adjust the polar axis plock of the mount to the latitude of your location.
Now you should see the polar star in the finder of the camera.

This polar alignment is sufficient for starting into the adventure of astrophotography. Start with approximately 60 seconds exposure time. You will be astonished what your camera already can show. The more accurate you align the mount to north, the longer you can expose.
