ASA 2" 0.73x Reducer and Coma Corrector for Newtonian Telescopes
This corrector corrects the Newtonian coma and increases the speed at the same time. A Newtonian telescope with f/4 turns to f/2.8, or f/5 becomes f/3.6. The necessary exposure times can roughly be halved. The German optics and telescope designer Dipl. Phys. Philipp Keller has designed this corrector.

The corrector can be used with the following Newtonian telescopes:
Basically the corrector can be used with any Newtonian starting from f/3 to f/5. The adapter shifts the focal plane approx. 15-16 millimetres away from the tube. This value results from the reduction factor of the reducer. You need approximately 90 mm space from the 2" receptacle of your focuser to the focus for the reducer becoming usable. UNC and ONTC Newtonian telescopes from Teleskop-Service can be optimized for the application of this special corrector.

Connecting the camera to the corrector:
The reducer/corrector has an adapter flange at the camera side. We offer matching adpters to T2, M48 or M54. The adapters have a length of 4 mm. This length has to be subtracted from the working distance of 65.21 mm.

Via subsequent adapters, you can place your camera into the correct distance exactly to the millimetre.

The usable image field:
ASA specifies a 100% illuminated and usable field of 18 mm in diameter. With a little trick at focusing, this field can be extended to approx. 30 mm. Dont´t use a star in the middle of the field for focusing, but use a medium-bright star in the outer third of the field.

We always recommend to create a FLAT. From a sensor diameter of 18 mm, a flat is mandatory for compensating the vignetting.
Connection to telescope:2"
Connection to camera:Adapter flange with three M3 threads (female)
Working distance from flange:65.20 mm to the sensor, from 300 mm aperture, we recommend 66 mm working distance

Fully corrected field:22 mm (with correction of focus up to 30 mm)
Total depth:65 mm
