ATIK 8 megapixel b/w CCD camera - cooled
Extremely low-noise - chip Kodak KAF 8300 17.6 x 13.52 mm - 8.3 million pixels - 5.4 µm - cooling to 40 °C below ambient temperature
Sensitivity at long exposuresThe graph shows well that the sensitivity of the chip is maintained over longer exposure times. This keeps the exposure times relatively short and gives you maximum yield.
Background noise of the ATIK383L+A camera can certainly have little background noise and no brightening and still have annoying artefacts. The ATIK383L+ has no such problems, the background is smooth, allowing shots with even backgrounds and bringing out the finest and faintest details.
ShutterATIK has incorporated a proven shutter that is also used successfully in other cameras. This further guarantees the durability of the ATIK383L+.
CoolingThe ATIK 383L+ offers one of the most effective cooling systems. Due to the effective Peltier cooling, the chip is cooled extremely quickly to the desired temperature. A built-in fan supports the cooling. The temperature of the chip can be controlled to within 0.1 °C for reproducible dark images. A temperature of up to 40 °C below ambient temperature can be achieved. Experience shows that a temperature of -20 °C is absolutely sufficient. The air is discharged at a side opening, so the escaping air does not disturb.
Dew protectionThe CCD chamber contains a desiccant cartridge that prevents dew condensation behind the glass. The desiccant cartridge is replaceable. You can, when the effect of the desiccant wears off, open the small cap with a screwdriver and let the desiccant regenerate in the oven at 180 °C for 2-3 hours. Meanwhile, screw the lid shut so that no dust can get into the interior of the camera. The regenerated dry tablet absorbs the moisture from the inside of the camera and thus prevents it from icing up.
