Skywatcher 305 mm (12") F/4.9 Newtonian Telescope with motorized equatorial EQ6 GoTo Mount
The Explorer-300PDS is a powerful Newtonian telescope from the Black Diamond series. This Newtonian offers high performance for astrophotography and visual observation. Thanks to the high-quality parabolic primary mirror (made of Pyrex), the image is tack-sharp and rich in contrast.

For amateur astronomers who are looking for a high-quality equatorial mount with the comfort of a computer-controlled GoTo system, the NEQ6 Pro SynScan from Skywatcher is the right choice.
The Sky-Watcher NEQ6 Pro SynScan was developed also with beginners in astronomy in mind. With the user-friendly keyboard controller, locating and observing objects in the starry sky becomes a walk in the park. The hand controller allows for letting the telescope direct to the wanted object or, with just the push of a button, start a guided tour through the night sky.
The clearly-arranged menu contains a data base with more than 42,000 objects of the night sky. Even a beginner can learn the various functions of the system in just aa few obervation nights. But the Sky-Watcher NEQ6 SynScan mount also includes many functions for the experienced amateur astronomer and astrophotographer.
Astrophotographic use and carrying capacity of the mount
The weight of the Newton is already above the maximum load of the mount, which is given with about 20 kg according to the manufacturer. Therefore, we recommend the combination only for wind-protected installation, e.g. in an observatory. If you want a more stable setup or still need reserves, for example for a heavy camera or a guide scope, we recommend the more stable EQ8 mount.
Important note about power supply:
To avoid loss of warranty, please use only the power supplies and mobile supplies recommended by us. Especially simple car batteries or sealed lead-acid batteries can lead to an under-supply, which can then damage the sensitive electronics of the mount. Operating a Skywatcher GoTo mount with a non-proprietary power supply not recommended by us is at your own risk. Thank you for your understanding. Here is the link to more information:
