Skywatcher Explorer 150P EQ3-2 - 150 mm f/5 Newtonian Telescope on equatorial Mount EQ3-2
The Skywatcher Newtonian Telescope Explorer-150P is an excellent choice for the ascending astronomer as well as for the interested beginner. With its large 150 mm aperture, combined with the superb parabolic optics, this telescope is a powerful all-rounder with excellent performance for observing the moon, planets, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters.

The diffraction limited, precise primary mirror allows successful lunar and planetary observations up to about 300x. Since it is a pure reflecting optic, the image is free of disturbing chromatic aberrations and thus offers highest contrast. This also enables enjoyable planetary observations. Up to 220x magnification can be achieved without any problems and without having to fear blurring caused by the optics.

The 2" Crayford focuser allows the use of powerful professional 2" eyepieces, together with the rather short focal length of the telescope this is very helpful for wide field observations. Of course you can also use 1.25" accessories, the necessary adapter is included.

The Newtonian is also prepared for astrophotography. The focuser can take suitable coma correctors and you will be able to focus with common cameras, like DSLR, but also astrocameras without any problems.

The upscale features and advantages of the BKP1507P:
Powerful diffraction limited parabolic mirror
Stable adjustment due to robust metal cells of the main and secondary mirror
Improved 2" metal focuser - with 2", M54 female, T2 male and 1.25" connection
M54 direct connection at the focuser - you get into focus with a reflex camera, without vignetting
High-contrast image due to thin secondary spider vanes
Helpful 6x30 finder scope for easy finding of objects
Direct camera connection for parallel photography to the telescope (star field photography)
High speed (f/5) - very practical for astrophotography
A pronounced all-rounder that allows both wide-field observations and observations at high magnification and is even suitable for astrophotography.

The equatorial mount EQ3-2
This equatorial mount from Skywatcher is very well suited for mobile use, but also a solid base for astrophotography. With suitable drives you can successfully take pictures of the moon, planets, nebulae and galaxies. For visual use, manual fine adjustment using the supplied flexible shafts is sufficient.

Astrophotography with the EQ3-2:
A mount that is to be used for photography, especially for taking pictures of nebulae and galaxies, has to meet some requirements. The EQ3-2 meets these requirements:
a fine tuning in latitude and azimuth for a very precise polar alignment of the mount.
a mounting option for the polar finder scope - an effective way of fast and accurate polar alignment. You save yourself the time-consuming tuning
the possibility of retrofitting a 2-axis drive - this is important because corrections are necessary for longer exposure times. But you must not touch the mount during the exposure - so the adjustment must be done by motor.

Comments from Teleskop-Service on the mount EQ3-2
In our opinion the mount is somewhat undersized for photographic use. Therefore we recommend the mount EQ5 (see recommended accessories) as a more stable base. This mount holds the telescope with much better stiffness and allows more fun and pleasure when observing. Gladly we make you an offer with the EQ5.
