The PROMINAR 8x33 is a high-end binocular with a color-pure image over the entire field of view. The technology of the PROMINAR XD lenses, proven in spotting scopes, has been transferred to binoculars. The result is an absolute top-of-the-range binocular.

The glass convinces, in addition to an excellent color-pure image, by compact dimensions, which make it a comfortable companion for excursions, safaris, hikes or wildlife observation. Due to the 10x magnification, you can already get the targets very close, yet hands-free observation is still well possible.

The PROMINAR XD Lens
Four PROMINAR XD lenses are built into these binoculars. The convex lenses associated with the XD lenses are made of glass with special dispersion properties to reduce chromatic aberration to an imperceptible level. This advanced technology creates a bright image with high contrast and excellent color reproduction. The optical performance of the Prominar lens is unmatched by a standard achromatic lens.

High Refractive Index Prisms
The new prism system of the DX44 lenses creates a wide field of view and tremendous edge-to-edge sharpness with minimal light loss. The roof prism provides nearly complete reflectance and, when combined with Kowa´s proprietary C³ coating, achieves the ultimate observing result.

Magnesium alloy housing - filled with nitrogen
That magnesium alloy body reduces the weight of the binoculars and provides a rugged structure that can withstand the toughest loads. Of course, the glass is filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging from the inside.

Minimum focusing distance from 1.5 meters
You can already focus from a distance of 1.5 meters. This makes the PROMINAR 33 a very good lens for close-up observation of plants or animals, for example.

Fixable diopter adjustment
The diopter setting can be fixed, so that accidental changes are impossible.

Phased coated roof prism
A matter of course in this performance class - the roof prisms are phase-coated for sharp images and outstanding contrast.

Kowa C³ Coating
Schmidt-Pechan prism is used in Kowa binoculars with roof prism. Since the surface of the Pechan prism does not provide total reflection, Kowa applies a highly reflective multi-coating, the C³ coating. This allows a much higher reflectance than normal prisms with a coating of silver or aluminum.

A reflectance of 99% or higher over the entire visible spectrum (400-700nm) is achieved. This not only achieves bright and sharp images, but also accurate color reproduction. In addition, the roof surface of the Schmidt prism is phase-coated to optimize contrast and image resolution.
