Celestron C60 Refractor and Spotting Scope

A well manufactured and above all lightweight refractor with surprisingly good image quality. This telescope offers beautiful views of moon and planets. But landscape and animal viewing are also a pleasure, as it is a spotting scope at the same time.

Attaching to a photo tripod or an astronomical mount:

A universal dovetail bar, which is directly attached to the telescope, allows attaching the refractor to any photo tripods via the 1/4" thread.

Furthermore, the dovetail allows connecting the refractor to the saddle plate of the GP/EQ mounts (Vixen level) or suitable dovetail clamps.

Choose your accessories according to your personal scope of application:

The telescope offers a very comfortable focus position, but for achieving a sharp image with the eyepieces, you need either a 1.25" extension tube, a star diagonal mirror or an Amici prism. The latter two have two advantages: The insight is more comfortable and the image is upright. With the Amici prism, it is also not mirrored, making a correct orientation like in a spotting scope.

The magnification can easily be calculated. The telescope has 700 mm focal length. Divide this focal length by the focal length of the eyepiece and get the magnification.

Example: with a 25 mm eyepiece, you get 28x magnification (700 : 25 = 28).

Astronomical overviews and landscape viewing: 28x

Animal observation with more detail: 46x

Lunar craters, planets: 70x to 120x (mount or sturdy photo tripod recommended)
