SkyWatcher EQ6-R SkyScan PRO- equatorial GoTo mount

The successor to the proven EQ6 SkyScan or SynScan mount has taken over the good properties of this mount. Skywatcher has constructed this mount even more precisely and more stable. With the EQ6-R, amateur astronomers now have an excellent mount for astrophotography with medium-heavy telescopes up to 20 kg weight at their disposal.

The provided computerized hand controller allows aiming the telescope to a specific object and offers tours across the current night sky just at the push of a button. The user-friendly menu system with its comprehensive database allows automatic locating and tracking of more than 42,000 astronomical objects. English is preselected as menu language but you also can select other languages like French or German.

To avoid loss of warranty, please use only the power supplies and mobile supplies recommended by us. Question:
The EQ6-R has a USB port that can be used to directly control the mount via a USB A/B cable. Which chipset is in the mount??].

According to Skywatcher there is a Prolific chipset inside. Please note that this connector may only be used after the mount has been switched on and supplied with power, otherwise the motherboard will be damaged. The same applies to the USB connector on the V5 hand control..
