Pentax Wide Angle Eyepiece XF 8.5 mm, suitable for binoviewers and with 60° field of view
With a focal length of 8.5 mm, the high-performancel Pentax XF 8.5 eyepiece is ideal for use with astronomical telescopes with 1.25" focusers. It is also recommended for countryside viewing and bird watching. As a standard unifocal eyepiece it offers a 60 degree apparent field of view, long eye relief, and bright, high-contrast images.

General features of Pentax XF eyepieces
Pentax XF eyepieces offer high-index, low-dispersion lanthanum glass elements to provide high-resolution images with minimal aberrations. Ideal for observation and photography of planets. PENTAX-original smc full-surface multi-layer coated optics reduce glare while providing maximum light transmission and color quality. Advanced computer simulation design technology was developed to reduce internal reflections, producing brighter, clearer images.

Features of Pentax XF eyepieces
Maximum definition and contrast:
The use of special ED (lanthanum) glass, blackening of the entire interior and all lens edges to prevent reflections, contributes to the achievement of this goal in the XF eyepieces, as does the SMC multicoating, which is undisputedly one of the best on the market.

Eye relief 18 mm:
An important characteristic of a true all-around eyepiece is the eye relief. Even inexperienced observers will immediately get a good image with this eyepiece. That is why we like to recommend these eyepieces for use on popular observatories.

Adjustable rubber eyeguard with click stop:
Adjust the distance of the rubber eyecup perfectly. Whether you observe with glasses or not, you will always have a comfortable view. The position of the rubber eyecup locks into place, then it cannot be adjusted unintentionally.

Use with binoviewers:
The slim design of the eyepieces and especially the calm viewing with the comfortable interpupillary distance make the XF eyepieces the best binoviewer eyepieces that we know.

XF 8.5 mm and XF 12 mm are parfocal:
What´s especially convenient is that Pentax´s two XF single focal length eyepiece, the XF 8.5 and the XF 12, are parfocal. You can change eyepieces and not need to readjust focus.

Digiscopy:
After removing the rotating eyecup, the XF eyepieces provide a thread for adapter mounting. Fixed focal lengths have 30.5 mm diameter thread with a 0.5 mm pitch, while the zoom has 43 mm diameter thread with a 0.75 mm pitch.

Field of use:
The eyepieces can be used for all kinds of amateur astronomy and nature observation, such as binocular observation, planetary observation and deep-sky observation, but also for landscape observation and bird watching when maximum contrast is required with high quality spotting scopes with 1.25" connection.

Was heute ja eigentlich Standard ist.
