Antares f/6.3 Reducer for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes
This high-quality corrector system was especially developed for SC telescopes. With this 4-element system, you can make a fast telescope for astrophotography out of your SCT.

The reducer is a very good solution for astrophotography with SCT when using a 2" focuser.

Features and applications of the Antares f/6.3 SCT Reducer:
The focal length reducer fits to Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes from Celestron and Meade, which have been equipped with a 2" focuser. It is simply plugged into the 2" eyepiece holder.
The f/6.3 reducer has a 2" filter thread at the eyepiece side. You can use normal accessories, especially off-axis guiders.
The optimal working distance from the 2" (M48) filter thread of the reducer is 80 mm. You can exceed or under-run this distance by 15% without appreciable loss of quality, but with another factor!
The focal length of the SC telescopes is reduced with the factor 0.63 - 2000 mm become 1260 mm focal length. The speed is considerably increased. You achieve the same saturation with only 40% exposure time, compared to the photography without reducer.
The reducer also provides a visual improvement, the gain in true field of view is significant. We recommend using the reducer with 1.25" eyepieces.

Astrophotography with off-axis guider:
Because of the long focal distance and the large aperture of SC telescopes, we recommend off-axis guiding. With this, the imaging telescope becomes guide scope at the same time. Due to the M48 connection, you usually do not need an adapter.
Connection telescope side:2" receptacle
Connection camera side:2" external filter thread
Lenses:Four air-spaced lenses - fully multicoated
Suitable for focal ratio:f/10
Shortening factor:0.63x
Clear aperture:43 mm
Usable field of view:Smaller (approx. 24 mm diameter) due to vignetting
Antares 2" 0.63x reducer
