TS Tangential Mount Assembly for precise side-by-side mounting

This tilting head holds finder scopes and guiding telescopes as well as camera lenses up to 7.5 kg and allows a stable and secure attachment parallel to the telescope. Stable ball bearings and strong clamps hold the instrument securely, it does not misalign even during long exposure.

Possible applications of the TS S8177 tangential tilting head:

Mounting and adjustment of guiding telescopes for astrophotography

Mounting and adjustment of cameras parallel to the main telescope

Mounting of finders and compact wide-field refractors parallel to the telescope

Mounting of spotting scopes and small telescopes on tripods with precise adjustment for reproducible photos

The adjustment of the gear head:

Two adjusting screws and one fixing screw are provided for horizontal and vertical adjustment respectively. The operation is simple.

Loosen the two fixing screws a little.

Adjust the tilt head with the adjustment screws.

When you have reached the desired position, simply tighten the fixing screws again.

Vixen/EQ5 style dovetail bar for matching quick release and clamps

1/4" female photo thread allows mounting on photo tripods

You can also mount an existing dovetail clamp to the bar to attach the tangential tilting head directly to Vixen/EQ5 style dovetail bars. Alternatively, you can also purchase a 2nd dovetail clamp.

The clamp can be removed so that you can directly attach spotting scopes or cameras via a 1/4" photo screw (included).
