ZWO 1.25" UV and infrared blocking filters

The filter blocks out ultraviolet and infrared light. This will improve the image on many telescopes.

Sensors from webcams or CCD cameras are sensitive to UV and IR light. Objectives or lenses are not well corrected in these areas, because neither the human eye nor the conventional film is sensitive in this area. Without an IR/UV cut filter, the contrast of the image would suffer. Once there is glass somewhere in the system (lens, correction plate, eyepiece, Barlow, ...), the IR/UV cut filter will improve the photographic result when used with cameras having an AR window.

The filter is used for luminance images and for lunar and planetary images.
