TS-Optics Telescopes main mirror baffle, fits TS UNC and Photon Newtonian telescopes
The baffle is a great photographic upgrade for your UNC or PHOTON Newtonian telescopes from Teleskop-Service. The star image is improved because the diffraction phenomena caused by the outermost mirror edge and especially by the retaining clips are simply faded out. The reduction of the aperture by only a few millimetres is of no consequence.

The installation on the Telescope is very simple. It is not even necessary to remove the primary mirror from the mirror cell.
Remove the primary mirror cell from the tube by loosening the lateral retaining screws.
Pull out the cell with the mounted primary mirror.
Remove the three retaining clips and place the cover on the primary mirror.
Now carefully reinsert the three retaining clips and fix them in place. It is sufficient if the clips only press lightly on the aperture ring.
Then reinstall the primary mirror with the cell. Once you have marked the position of the screws, you do not even need to adjust the telescope.

The ring also fits many other Newtonian telescopes with the primary mirror diameter of 200 mm. If you have any questions, please contact us.

"I did not install it. It is too small to actually cover the mirror clips. I decided it was too much work and risk to remove the mirror clips to install it. Even without it the star flare is not too bad even with bright stars. Plus I get to keep the full aperture. I do not recommend this product. If you *really* want something like this, get an aluminum one or something that fits better and will actually cover the mirror clips."
