TS-PHOTON 254/1270 mm Advanced Newtonian for Observations and Astrophotography
This Newtonian from the PHOTON series is a real all-rounder and is one of the most powerful telescopes in this price class. With its versatile focal ratio of f/5, the Newtonian reflector offers the best conditions for observing the moon and planets. The optimized secondary mirror is also designed for deep-sky observations and astrophotography.

The 10" f/5 PHOTON Newtonian is well supported by mounts like the Skywatcher EQ6 or the Celestron CGX. The telescope is still transportable, but can also be used very well in observatories.

The advantages of the PHOTON Newtonian at a glance:
Moderate focal ratio for short exposure times in astrophotography.
Very good sharpness on moon and planets
Secondary mirror provides good illumination for example for DSLR cameras
Large backfocus allows the use of commercially available coma-correctors and cameras
High quality primary mirror made of optical BK7 glass with enhanced 94% reflectivity for a bright and clear image.
Stable 2" Crayford focuser with 1:10 dual speed and 1.25" reduction
Motor focus can be retrofitted at any time
Cool down faster, observe faster, take pictures faster through the fan for the primary mirror
Steel tube and mirror cells made of metal for optimal adjustment stability
Only at TS: Carbon tube for retrofitting - for ultimate transport

Why we recommend a Newtonian from the Photon series before all other comparable Newtonians:

The primary mirrors of the Photon series are from GSO. Since years the manufacturer manages to keep the optical level of the mirrors evenly high. The Photon Newtonian telescopes are built according to the specifications of Teleskop-Service. The secondary mirror size is optimized, the distances for the focus position are also optimized for observation and photography. But above all, Photon Newtons can adapt to your interests, they can "grow with you":
We offer a carbon tube kit for each Photon 10" Newtonian, where you can reuse all parts of your Newtonian.
We offer smaller or larger secondary mirrors, so you can adapt the Newtonian to your individual interests, no matter if you want to observe planets or take pictures with a full frame sensor.

The exact 2" Crayford focuser with 1:10 dual speed:
We offer this Newtonian telescope with a 2" Crayford focuser with integrated 1:10 micro reduction. This focuser works very precisely even with heavy accessories like astro cameras. With a little experience you can achieve adjustment accuracies of 0.08 mm, which are sufficient even for very high resolution sensors.

The focuser is fully compatible with the optional TS motor focus system. A motor takes over the focusing. This enables absolutely jitter-free and precise focusing for observation and photography.

Quick manual for the focuser: Telescope-Service provides a quick guide for the TS Crayford focusers. You can download the PDF here.

High-quality primary mirror with f/5 and 94% reflectivity
This Newtonian shows its full potential in observation and astrophotography through a high-quality primary mirror made of optical, tension-free BK7 glass. The parabolic primary mirror is 94% coated and therefore offers a brighter and high-contrast image. Compared to a normal mirror you can immediately see the difference.

With its focal ratio of f/5 the Newtonian belongs to the all-round telescopes for astrophotography and observation.

No vignetting at the edge - full illumination by large 70 mm secondary mirror
No shading at the edge, even with modern DSLR or CCD cameras you will enjoy a bright image with full illumination. But also 2" large field eyepieces are supplied with light up to the edge.

More joy in the image due to optimal field correction - consulting service of Teleskop-Service
Only a good coma corrector can turn this Newtonian into a true astrograph. Our recommendation is the TS Maxfield coma corrector, which is as made for this telescope. It will give you the highest sharpness in the whole field, only with this corrector (see recommendations for accessories) this Newtonian becomes a true astrograph.

Astrophotography with DSLR cameras
TSKomakorr Maxfield coma corrector
SKM48... Matching T-ring to camera mount

... and you are already at the optimum distance and have sharp stars in the complete field of view. The tracking control can be done via the finder or via a small guide scope which fits into the finder mount.

Astrophotography with the ZWO cooled cameras
The cameras from ZWO and the fast Newtonian with the TS Maxfield corrector are an optimal team for astrophotography. The stars are sharp to the edge. The adaptation from the corrector to the camera is easy, we will be happy to advise you.

The advantage - already after 40 seconds you have galaxies, nebulae and star clusters on the sensor. Longer exposure times are not necessary, a guiding control is not necessary. Just let the well polar-aligned mount run and wonderful astrophotographs will be taken almost by themselves. The high f/5 speed of the Newtonian and the extremely fast sensor of the camera make it possible.

Introducing the TS PHOTON telescope series
A picture is worth a thousand words, a video is even more helpful - so TS made one:

Collimating Newtonian telescopes made easy
Collimating a Newtonian telescope is not difficult at all, as the following video shows:

Question:
Why are there two additional felt inserts for the tube rings?

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
We offer the TS Photon with metal tube and with carbon tube. The carbon tube is 2 mm thicker in diameter. If you have the metal tube, which is about 2 mm less in diameter, just glue the felt insert into the lower half of the tube ring and the tube rings will have a good grip.
