TS Photoline 0.8x Focal Reducer and Corrector for Refractors up to 102 mm Aperture

The corrector increases the speed of your refractor telescope and reduces the focal length for a larger field. The exposure time is reduced to 64%. In addition, the corrector corrects the field and creates pinpoint stars up to the edge of the image.

Adjust the corrector individually to your camera and refractor - no more adapter battle!

An essential part of the corrector is an integrated fine adjustment. By turning the knurled ring on the corrector, you can adjust the distance to the sensor extremely precisely. Once you have reached the desired distance, fix it with the clamping screw. In this way, you can determine the optimum distance via test exposures with the camera connected, without additional adapters and tuning rings. The camera does not rotate during fine adjustment.

The following settings from the innermost position of the adjustment to the sensor are recommended:

aperture 102 mm / focal ratio f/7 - 55 mm

aperture 80 mm / focal ratio f/7 - 57.6 mm

aperture 80 mm / focal ratio f/6 - 59.6 mm

aperture 70 mm / focal ratio f/6 - 61.6 mm

Connection to the telescope:

This Photoline Reducer has a M63x1 external thread on the telescope side. Many focusers already have this thread as standard. Adapters to other threads, such as M68x1, are of course available.

Application example - how to set the distance:

Setting the correct distance is very easy, as we will show in the following example:

Telescope: refractor with 80 mm aperture f/6, thus 480 mm focal length.

Camera: DSLR with 55 mm distance from the M48 thread to the sensor.

The working distance is 59.6 mm according to the table. From this dimension you simply deduct the 55 mm (distance thread to the sensor). This leaves 4.6 mm.

Simply turn the variable adjustment 4.6 mm outwards, this can be easily adjusted by the distance marking. You are now at the optimum distance and can start taking pictures.

Question:
How do I mount 2" filters??

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
Just loosen the three grub screws on the camera side and then you can unscrew the camera adapter and on the bottom side you will see the filter thread. You don´t need to tighten the grub screws for operation, they just prevent the camera from accidentally turning. You can also unscrew the screws completely.



Question:
What is the difference between the TSREDJM63B and the TSREDJM63S?

Both correctors have a similar optics. The most important differences are:

the diameter of the lenses in the TSREDJM63B is slightly larger

the housing between the corrector and the M48 connector is designed slightly different to provide comfortable working distances for larger refractors

How do you have to measure the working distance?

The working distance is measured from the beginning of the connection thread on the housing of the corrector (see example picture):
