The search for the observation objects with a classical Dobsonian telescope requires some effort even for experienced observers. For beginners it is very tedious and so always the same objects are set. Exciting, but hard to find celestial objects are denied.

The Push-To system manufactured by Asterion offers a useful and modern solution for experienced amateur astronomers as well as beginners. The system is an upgrade kit consisting of two encoders with a controller and brackets suitable for mounting on Dobsonian telescopes.

The encoder of a vertical axis is permanently mounted. It does not restrict the movement of the Dobsonian. The encoder for the height has a quick removable mounting, which allows a quick disassembly of a telescope for transport.

Mounting and setup and function of the Push-To-System:

First, the encoders are placed on the telescope holder.

Before starting work, install and set up compatible planetarium software on your computer or smartphone, for mobile devices use SkySafari or the StarSeek application.

Connect the (optional) power supply to the controller and connect your device via WiFi

Before starting the observations, the calibration is carried out on stars that are easy to find.

Then the system shows the telescope´s position with high accuracy directly on electronic planetarium maps, which help the observer to point the telescope.
