This filter keeps dust away from the camera sensor or objective front lens, it also allows focusing without effective filters, without having to refocus afterwards.

This is helpful, for example, when using NB Nebula Boost filters - if they darken the stars too much, simply use the ODW to focus and then replace it with the NB.

I bought the ODW-48 to keep the working distance constant when no special filter is to be used.
The ODW-48 was used with the following equipment:

Celestron EDGE HD 8", Hyperstar, ZWO ASI 294 MC Pro, Altair 2" filter drawer,

Software: SharpCap Pro

The "filter" does what it is supposed to do. It keeps the light path constant, shows no reflections, halos, etc., and I can´t detect any colour changes either. It is the perfect complement to the IDAS Nebula Booster NBZ, which also has 2.5mm glass thickness.
