TS-Optics Retaining Ring for TS-Optics UNC Focusers and to the M65x1 Thread
Many astrophotographers prefer a screwed adaptation, because the lateral clamping can cause the coma corrector or the flattener to tilt. The result is warped stars in the corners and unsightly astrophotographs.For this reason, the 2" UNC focusers from TS-Optics have the M65x1 thread at the end of the 2" receptacle. With this adapter, correctors can be connected without clamping and thus without losing the required accuracy. The clamping screws on the focuser are thus superfluous.
Correctors and flatteners with T2 or M48 connection
These correctors with the smaller diameter can be used on UNC focusers without clamping in the future. Insert the corrector in the focuser. Then simply screw the TS65-51i adapter over it and fix the corrector. The adapter now functions as a retaining ring. The only requirement is that the 2" stop edge of the corrector on the camera side has a diameter larger than 52 mm.| Thread on the focuser side: | M65x1 internal thread - length 9 mm |
