Porta mount by Vixen - Altazimuth mount with fine adjustment
The Porta stands for easy transport, high ease of use and above all for versatile use.

Fields of application:
Astronomical observation
Nature observation
Nature and bird photography

In each of these areas, the Porta convinces with good handling and, above all, solid quality.

We offer connections for practically all devices, from spotting scopes and telephoto lenses to astronomical telescopes.

The swivel range
The Porta offers a large swivel range. You can easily reach any position, from the horizon to the zenith. This is exactly what makes the mount so versatile.
Especially when observing objects high above our heads, the Porta has an advantage. Many azimuthal mounts, but also spherical and tilting heads, do not allow an upward tilt, because the device used to hit the tripod legs. This is not a problem with the Porta.

The Porta´s Fine Adjustment
The Porta mount offers two adjustment options. You have an adjustable friction clutch. So you can swivel it freely, just like with a normal ball or tilt head. This allows you to reach your goal very quickly.
In addition, you have a micro fine adjustment for both axes. This allows you to accurately centre the target even at high magnification, or to very accurately track slow-moving targets.

A handy storage option
The Porta also offers a practical storage option between the legs of the field tripod. This gives you a good place for extra magnification, adapters, etc.

The advantages of the Porta at a glance
Thanks to the 360° fine movement, you can make manual pans without restriction, the Porta mount moves your telescope where you want it to go.
The integrated friction clutch makes clamping levers superfluous; it can be adjusted to your requirements in terms of ease of movement with a standard tool that can be stowed in the mount.
The dovetail system (compatible with the GP and Sphinx mounts) allows you to balance your telescope precisely.
The dovetail system allows you to mount different devices up to approx. 180 mm in diameter.
Weight with tripod:5.5 kg
Porta mount with quick coupling without dovetail bar
Height-adjustable aluminium tripod

"I love this little mount. It is just the solution for grab and go. See an object in the sky and want to take a quick look this is just the thing. I use it with my 80mm refractor or 90mm Mak. I did not like the slow motion controls provided. They were cheap plastic knobs. I purchased a set of slow motion cables to replace them. "
