Starizona Conversion Kit for older Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes

This kit converts a non-HyperStar compatible SCT into a compatible telescope. The kit contains three components that replace the original secondary mirror mount.

For installation, the original secondary mirror with the holder must be removed from the telescope. First the Schmidt plate is removed. The secondary mirror holder is then removed. The secondary mirror itself is then removed from the holder and inserted into the new holder. This holder is then placed back on the corrector plate and inserted back into the telescope. Please make sure that the secondary mirror and the Schmidt plate have the same orientation to the primary mirror as before removal.

After installation, the telescope optics must be collimated.

Note: The old orange Celestron SCTs (not NexStar 8SE) have secondary mirrors mounted differently from the current model telescopes. This requires a modification of the conversion kit, which we can order for you for an extra charge, please contact us if you are interested.
