Build yourself a high-quality solar filter with the Baader AstroSolar filter foil and the holder of Teleskop-Service. Equip your finder scope, spotting scope, binoculars or telescope with a solar filter.

How to make a good solar filter with little effort

Cut a round piece of 74 mm diameter from the foil. Make sure there are no holes in the piece.

Cut a ring with 74 mm outer diameter and 66 mm inner diameter from a thick cardboard (min. 2 mm thick).

Place the foil piece into the socket. You can fix the foil with a few drops of glue. It is not necessary that the foil is under tension.

Put the cardboard ring on the foil and fix the ring to the socket with some tape or a few drops of glue. The cardboard ring protects the foil when mounting the filter.
