Vixen SXP2 - professional high-end GoTo Mount
The SXP2 is a further development of the SX mount with improved load capacity and running accuracy. The mount has a toothed belt drive and a stronger mounting housing. Thanks to the innovative STAR BOOK TEN control system, the mount is very easy to operate. It is well suited for the demanding observer and the astrophotographer.

Very accurate tracking with P-PEC function
The SXP2 mount comes with the modern STARBOOK TEN controller. It offers you the P-PEC function for extremely accurate tracking. The PEC stands for Periodic Error Correction and corrects the errors in the mechanics, which would generate periodic errors in the gear systems. A P-PEC function is provided for the equatorial SXP2 mount, which is derived from the PEC function. The P-PEC function stores a record of your corrections even after the power to the mount has been turned off. There is no need to re-enter the data each time, which results in faster operation and more accurate tracking.

The belt drive system achieves minimal play and little noise
In the conventional motor drive systems of equatorial mountings, gears were used and driven by the motor. However, this type of construction has the disadvantage that there is a certain amount of play among the gears, which can lead to inaccuracies.

To avoid this, the transmission of the drive was converted to a belt drive system. As a result, both the backlash of the gears and the noise of the drive were drastically reduced. In addition, a faster reaction is achieved when corrections are made.

Stable latitude block and 16 bearings for more rigidity
There are a total of 16 bearings in the mechanical parts. The SXP2 mount uses a set of tapered roller bearings for the R.A. axis to provide more stability for more accurate tracking. The SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavier AXJ mount. This new construction allows a fast and stable adjustment of the latitude.

Simple and accurate polar alignment via reference stars
The 6x20 pole finder is pre-installed. This allows the user to set the polar orientation (both for the Northern Hemisphere and for the Southern Hemisphere). This pole finder has a variable illuminated reticle with automatic switch-off function. The brightness is adjustable in 8 steps, so that the user can adjust the desired brightness himself.

The polar finder scope has a direct setting via three reference stars and can achieve an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes.

The ariable mount head
Eight M8 female threads 35 mm apart can accept prism clamps or adapter plates. The head is flat, so that the clamps are optimally positioned.

The STAR BOOK TEN contains more than 272,000 celestial objects, including about 260,000 stars from the SAO catalogue, 109 Messier objects, 7840 NGC objects and 5,380 IC objects as well as the Sun, Moon and planets. Objects can be called with the general name and information like own recordings and data can be adjusted separately.

The heavy R.A. and DEC motor units are mounted in the lower part of the declination so that the center of gravity of the axis cross is under the R.A. and DEC axis. Thus the declination body acts as a counterweight. Thanks to the flat mounting head, the mount can be balanced with considerably less counterweight.

Retractable counterweight bar
The counterweight bar is made of 20 mm thick solid stainless steel and allows the use of all counterweights of the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight rod is housed in the declination body.

Accessory shoe
The accessory shoe is mounted above the polar finder and allows the #35511 PolarMeter to be mounted for quick polar alignment without Pole Star.
