The complete filter set for tricolor imaging

This filter kit includes all LRGB with SII 6.5 nm, OIII 6.5 nm and Ha 7 nm filter. It is suitable for planetary imaging as well as for photographing deep-sky objects.

LRGB filter set

This set divides the spectrum into its components red, green, blue and luminance.

OIII emission overlaps on blue and green filters with maximum transmission to allow high efficiency and natural color imaging. The gap between green and red filters serves to block out the primary sodium light pollution line at 589 nm and improves color balance and separation.

Main Use and Performance

Work well with debayered monochrome cameras

Suitable for deepsky and planetary imaging

RGB-imaging allows equal weighting factors for each channel, very important for automated imaging.

The ideal raw material for image processing in the sRGB color space is available with LRGB filter set and mono camera.

The line (extra narrowband) filters

This set transmits only the lines of gases in emission nebulae, significantly reducing stray light from cities.

Main Use and Performance

Suitable for photographing on faint emission nebulae in full moonlight or in severe light pollution

Hubble look of images can be made by the combination of H-alpha, OIII and SII, such as the famous “Pillars of Creation” (M16 Eagle Nebula)

Narrowband imaging with SHO set (H-alpha, OIII and SII) can be done with the moon up in heavy light pollution, so your equipment is not sitting dormant for several weeks

OIII filter is also suitable for visual observation on most emission nebulae, planetary nebulae and supernova remnants

Which side of the filter needs to face towards the telescope?

Optolong has a good explanation on their page with a check on unmounted filters. With mounted filters, it´s easy. The side with the external thread must face the camera.
