Vixen 0.79x HD Reducer for FL55SS Fluorite Apochromat

With the combination FL55S and this reducer, photographing larger celestial objects or parts of the Milky Way becomes a great experience. With the combination Vixen FL55SS and the Vixen 0.79x reducer, an APO astrograph with only 239 mm focal length and a corrected image field of 44 mm is at your disposal.

Sharpness on the axis and, due to the flattener, also in the field, is excellent. The stars become smaller and sharper than with comparable telephoto lenses.

The reducer alone makes no sense at the FL55SS, as it only reduces the focal length. You still need the flattener VI37252 which flattens and corrects the image field. The reducer is screwed into the flattener insted the extension tube.

Connecting the camera to the reducer:

The camera is simply attached via the Vixen Wide Photo Adapter. Thanks to the supplied # 66 extension tube, you are automatically in the correct distance for perfect results.

If you want to use other astro cameras, we supply the necessary adaption via the TS-Optics adapter TSM60-M48. The working distance from the M48x0.75 thread is 62 mm.
