Vixen Flattener HD Kit for FL55SS Fluorite Apochromat
With the combination FL55S and this HD flattener, photographing larger celestial objects or parts of the milky way becomes a great experience. There is hardly another telescope system with such a short focal length which provides a perfectly corrected and illuminated image field for full-frame size sensors.

Sharpness on the axis and, due to the flattener, also in the field, is excellent. The stars become smaller and sharper than with comparable telephoto lenses. You will be surprised by how many details can be noticed with about 300 mm focal length even in smaller galaxies. Where telephoto lenses show only a blurred disc, suddenly spiral arms become visible.

Connecting the camera to the flattener:
The camera is simply attached via the Vixen Wide Photo Adapter. Thanks to the supplied # 66 extension tube, you are automatically in the correct distance for perfect results.

If you want to use other astro cameras, we supply the necessary adaption via the TS-Optics adapter TSM60-M48. The working distance from the M48x0.75 thread is 62 mm.

"Basically something mandatory for imaging. I´m pleasantly surprised by the lack of vignetting, I´m using a full frame hybrid and the drop of illumination is pretty much just at the corners of the frame."
