APM 1.25" Gray Filter ND 3.0 (1000x)

The filter offers extreme brightness attenuation. Only 1/1000 of the light passes the filter, the rest is absorbed. Among other usages, this filter is used for solar observation with photographic front solar filters. The filter is also used with Herschel wedges or sun prisms. But then an additional gray filter or a contrast filter like the Solar Continuum is necessary. The filter must not be used for solar observation without additional filtering.

The filter is screwed into the 1.25" filter thread of the eyepiece or the adapter. The filter has the filter thread (female/male) at both sides and thus can be combined with color filters or contrast filters.
