Tracking motor for AstroMaster CG3 mount to comensate for the Earth´s rotation

Suitable for:
Celestron AstroMaster 90EQ
Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ


This motor is intended for the EQ-2 equatorial mount by Skywatcher. It is mounted to the R.A. axis and compensates for the apparent movement of the celestial objects.

When the motor is engaged, Stars, Moon and Planets stay centered in the field of view if the mount is polar aligned. Prolonged observations are possible without loosing the object.




Equipment Features

On/Off switch: Use this switch to set the tracking motor in operation.

N/S Switch: If you are in the northern hemisphere, then always set the switch to N. If you ever travel to the southern hemisphere of the earth, then set the switch to S and then the tracking will run in the correct direction.

Stepless speed control: With a small potentiometer you can control the tracking speed steplessly until it works optimally.

Power supply: The power supply funtkioniert via a standard 9V battery. The compartment is integrated in the motor. In normal operation, it lasts about 40 hours and the replacement is easily done in a few minutes.
