TS-Optics Carbon Composite Tube Upgrade for your GSO & Photon 200 mm f/5 Newtonian
Equip your Newtonian with a carbon fiber tube, thus increasing stiffness and reducing weight significantly. We offer this special service to all owners of GSO and Photon Newtonian telescopes. All necessary bores and the hole for the focuser are drilled.

What is in the scope of delivery - what do you still need:
You get the complete carbon composite tube from Teleskop-Service. All bores for the primary mirror cell, front ring, finder, focuser and also spider are already drilled. You can use all parts of your Newtonian.

Retrofitting your telescope:
The conversion is very easy, just remove all parts of your telescope until you have the bare metal tube. The ínstall the parts simply into the new carbon fibre tube. You can use the existing screws.

The advantages of the TS Carbon Composite Tube Upgrade:
You get an optimized focus position for astrophotography with popular coma correctors like the BAADER MPCC or the TSGPU 4-element coma correktor.
The weight of your telescope is considerably reduced and the stiffness is increased at the same time. Twisting, for example at the focuser, is a thing of the past.
The focus position is kept significantly better, as carbon fibre reinforced polymer has a more favourable coefficient of thermal expansion than metal. Thus you need to refocus less often during time exposures. The images become sharper.

Suitable for:GSO and TS Photon 8" f/5 Newtonian telescopes and similar ones
Focus position:160 mm above the tube
Distance focuser center to bores for secondary mirror spider:75 mm
Distance focuser center to bores for primary mirror cell:777 mm
