"Extremely high quality eyepiece that changes my afocal set up to the highest possible resolution theoretically permitted by my APO refractor. The eyepiece also have other important functions such as testing atmospheric turbulence (stop the tracking and star trails show atmospheric (in)stability as a time series, summing the time series gives star size over long exposure), as well as causally looking at planetary bodies at high magnification at the end of an exhausting imaging session. Needless to say, it doubles up as a public relations eyepiece. Key disadvantage is the short eye relief, this can be accommodated by swing your head around to see edge of field. It should be noted that the plossl is of the highest quality with visually perfect images edge to edge. In imaging, it is effectively diffraction limited as only the center of field is used due to limited sensor size."
