SKR 70/900 EQ-2 Skywatcher Refractor - 70mm aperture - 900mm with EQ-2 German equatorial mount

The 70mm Skywatcher refractor offers a solid and quality entrance into Astronomy. Many hundred Nebulae and Galaxies and of course the Moon and Planets become visible.

The German equatorial EQ-2 mount carries the telescope with good stability and includes a height-adjustable aluminium field tripod. When equipped with a motor drive, this mount also allows the entrance into astro photography.

Observations with the SKR 70/900mm:

The Moon
Craters and Rimae become clearly visible. Watch the shadows move and details become more detailed as the sun descends "behind" a crater.

Planets
Observe Venus' phase shape, watch the clouds on Jupiter's surface and the play of the Galileian moons - This refractor has been named after the Planet Jupiter because it already can show many details like the Great Red Spot here.

The sun
With the Baader solar filter film ("SofiA4V") you can make a high-quality and safe solar filter for a reasonable price (see "accessories"). Then, you can observe e.g. the solar spots.
The Stars
Hundreds of celestial objects are in reach of this telescope. Compared with the human eye, you have a 140x higher light gathering power.

Terrestrial observation
is also no problem! Watch birds sit in a tree or a ship close to the horizon - the Jupiter 2 offers good contrast.
Focuser The SKR 70/900 most important advantages:

Sharp picture - not only Moon and Planets are impressive, Stars and Star Clusters are also depicted with very high contrast.

Good focuser - it runs smoothly without shifting. So you can focus objects precisely. Even the connection of a small camera is possible if you want to take pictures from the moon or planets.

Set up and observe - this is the motto of the SKR 70/900mm. The telescope is always optimal collimated and ready for use. Even children can operate it after a brief instruction by older persons.
EQ-2 High mechanical stability - You can see that the EQ-2 is good dimensioned. Even at higher magnifications, focusing is easy because there are nearly no vibrations present.

Photography - The SKR 70/900 offers many opportunities for the entrance to astro photography. The telescope has a camera connection. So you have a 900mm telephoto lens with good sharpness and contrast. If, for instance, a bird 30m away is captured you can see details in its feathers.
