Baader hard wood tripod

The Baader hard wood tripod is a further development of the theodolite tripod by Zeiss. It offers a solid base for medium and heavy mounts.
A tripod is often the weak point of the whole system. With the hard wood tripod, vibrations are damped quickly and the overall stability of the system is increased.

Main material of this tripod is wood. Wood cushions vibrations, metal leads them. In spite of its own weight of only 10.5kg, this tripod accepts loads up to ca. 45kg without problems.

The 125mm broad legs made from German beech are adjustable from 105 to 155cm. So this tripod can also be used for longer refractors.

One of the Baader hard wood tripod's main advantages is the capability of carrying full load even with fully extended legs. So we recommend it especially for telescopes viewing position from the back side when comfortable observing is desired.

Clamping of the tripod legs by two clampshells

The legs are locked by two clampshells each thus improving stability and stiffness. The round outer parts are being pressed to the profiled inner part. This gives a big clamping surface.

Variable adjustment of each leg's inclination

Using the thee locking screws, the inclination of each leg can be adjusted individually. So you can prevent longer OTAs from hitting one tripod leg.

Baader's hard wood tripod has a plane mounting surface with three M5 bores around and one hole in the center for counterscrews. Here, you can attach the adapters directly. Of course, individual adaptations are also possible easily.
