2" Newtonian Multi Purpose Coma Correktor (MPCC) - for photograpical and visual applications

This coma corrector is suitable for all Newtonian telescopes with a focal ratio from f/4.5 to f/6. It reduces the coma inherent to these systems and offers evenly sharpness across the entire field of view.

For best performance, the distance between the corrector's T2 thread and the sensor plane (or the eyepiece's field stop) must be 55mm.

Technical details:

Connection (telescope side)	2" barrel with filter thread (M48x0.75)
Connection (camera side)	-- T-2 male thread for direct SLR connection and -- 2" filter thread (M48x0.75 male) for eyepieces or Off-Axis-Guiders
Optical length	-- Approx. 3mm when the T-2 thread is used. -- 0mm when the M48 thread is used.

With this corrector, great results are possible. A sample image of M31, captured by Wolfi Ransburg with a Canon EOS 20 Da and an 8" f/5 GSO Newtonian, can be seen in the "user reports" folder.

Practical tip by Teleskop-Service:

The Baader Coma Corrector can also be used visually. So you have a sharp image over the full field without the need of purchasing a set of expensive eyepieces.

The distance between the MPCC's T2 thread and the eyepiece's field stop must be 55mm.
Otherwise the corrector cannot work efficiently.

The correct distance can be achieved in this way:

Screw the TS T2-2 adapter on the Coma Corrector. Then, place the 2" eyepiece in the receptacle. Normally, you will have to pull out the 2" eyepiece a little bit in order to reach the correct distance.

At 1.25" eyepieces, the distance should already be more or less correct when a standard 2" to 1.25" reducer is used.

Move the eyepiece slightly back and forth until the field sharpness reaches its maxium. Now, you have found the correct distance.
